Maryam Yousif & Rachel Stallings at Royal Nonesuch Gallery
This month's feature highlighted two talented artists working on the Bachelors of fine arts. Maryam Yousif and Rachel Stalling's are both multi disciplinary artists focused on using story telling as a means of self reflection on perspective and it's shape in their works. It is noted that they each use a lot of bright colors, abstraction, and surrealism to convey a feeling of nostalgia. Rachel and Maryam, being young artist in the developing world of fine arts, seem to be enlightened to use their art as a means to connect their journey towards self discovery, all while using history for contextualization on present day shifts in topics like expectations for an artist with a socially intersecional background in the world today.
