The Minnesota Street Project was our host for this edition of The Painting Salon with the help of EtAl Director Aaron Harbour.

This month our presenters were Heather Deyling and Dana Hemenway. Heather discussed the importance of her sketchbook in her practice, her "invented hybrids" series, and new pieces created in glass via her residency at Bullseye. For those interested in Heather's "Drawing Currents" project she mentioned, including its call for artists, click here to visit the blog.

Dana Hemenway talked about her re-contextualizing of the "object" and everyday materials, craft vs. fine art, and the surprises that can happen in the studio when faced with the unexpected. She also gave us a sneak peak into her upcoming solo show at gallery Eleanor Harwood and we can't wait to check it out.
