Danielle Andress, Johanna Friedman, and Laura Rokas- February 2018 at Borderline Art Collective
This month's feature highlighted three Bay Area artist who break bounds on the everyday binary we confront using textiles as a means to open up such conversation. Many of the themes focused on time, space, and gender expectations. In lieu of the serious topics there were a lot of laughs shared around popular cultural references, like Gossip Girl, used to bring some grounding to the high level of content each artist has been focusing on. The final segment was a wonderful commentary by the artist on each other's work that they personally enjoyed and wanted further insight into.
