December's Painting Salon was held at Embark Gallery out at Fort Mason. We absolutely love the mission of the gallery, which exclusively features MFA students or recent grads from Bay Area schools; giving them opportunities to show their work when often their institutions lack suitable opportunities.

Henry Chapman was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1987. He graduated from The Cooper Union in 2010, and received his MFA in Painting and Printmaking from The Yale School of Art in 2015. He has held residencies at Yaddo, Vermont Studio Center, and T293 Gallery in Rome, Italy, where his solo exhibition, “Writing,” opened in 2015. In 2015 and 2016, he exhibited in group shows internationally and in New York. His upcoming solo exhibition with Kate Werble Gallery in New York opens in early 2017. He currently lives in Berkeley.

Jacqueline Sherlock Norheim is an artist and designer based in Oakland, California. She holds a BFA from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and an MFA from Mills College. She has been a resident artist at Local Language, the Vermont Studio Center, Teton Art Labs, Wassaic Projects, and the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation. Her work has recently been shown at Hashimoto Contemporary, SF; Embark Gallery, SF; Bass & Reiner, SF; Chandra Cerrito Contemporary, Oakland; SOMArts, SF; and Dead Space Gallery, Brooklyn.
